At SUNLedger, we believe your financial data belongs to you—not to us. Our application is designed with a local-first philosophy, meaning your data remains stored on your own device and under your complete control. We do not require user accounts, maintain cloud databases, or monetize your personal information.
Privacy at a Glance
1. Local Storage & Offline Operation
SUNLedger stores all transaction histories, project details, member lists, categories, settings, and settlement balances locally on your device using Android's SQLite database through the Room persistence library.
- No Remote Storage: We do not upload or store your ledger data on external servers or cloud databases.
- Works Fully Offline: No account, registration or cloud synchronization required.
- Your Data, Your Control: Records remain on your device unless you choose to share or export them.
2. Information We Collect (and Do Not Collect)
SUNLedger does not automatically collect personal information.
- No name, email, phone, address, contacts, location, financial records, analytics, advertising identifiers or other personal information entered into your ledgers are collected.
- If you contact support, you voluntarily choose what to send using your email application.
3. Manual Export, Backups & Data Ownership
You have complete ownership and custody of your financial data.
- Export generates a JSON representation copied to your clipboard.
- You choose where to save or share it (Drive, Dropbox, Email, local storage, etc.).
- SUNLedger never uploads data automatically or accesses cloud accounts directly.
4. No Tracking, Advertising or Analytics
SUNLedger includes no advertising networks, analytics platforms, behavioral tracking SDKs, usage telemetry, marketing SDKs or third-party trackers.
5. Device Permissions
Only permissions required for intended functionality are used.
- Internet is used only for user-initiated actions like opening links, Play Store, or sending feedback.
- Clipboard/file sharing is used only when you export or share data.
6. Data Deletion & Retention
You remain in complete control.
- Uninstalling the app or clearing app storage permanently removes local data.
- Exported copies remain under your control and should be deleted manually where stored.
7. Feedback, Ratings & Optional Diagnostics
Feedback is prepared as a draft email only after you choose to send it.
- May include rating, comments, app version, Android version, device manufacturer and model.
- Nothing is transmitted automatically. You can review, edit, remove or cancel before sending.
8. Children's Privacy
SUNLedger does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is suitable for users of all ages because data remains on the user's device unless voluntarily shared.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. The latest version will always be available within the application.
